Testimonials from some who have completed Years 1 & 2

Thank you to all these dedicated and wonderful yogis who have completed the AYTTC Training & Immersion Course over the past few years, and to the current group of 2019-2021.

Finding the right yoga teacher, is like finding the right GP or the right school or the right hairdresser!! There are so many to choose from but when you find the right one, they become an important part of your life for a long time!!

Paul has been my yoga teacher for over 7 years. What drew me to his classes was his authenticity. Paul has vast knowledge and understanding of yoga teachings and philosophy. He is a true Yogi, always learning, always humble and always happy to share his knowledge. There is no fluff, no ego, no waffle with Paul.

His weekly classes are 90 minutes long and include pranayama, asanas, mudra, meditation, mantra, stillness, ... and Paul will always offer something interesting to go away and think about.

His decades of teaching experience, in Europe and India, and his dedication to the teachings of Patanjali are evident by the ease in which he teaches and the connectedness he has with each student. It always amazes me how, with so many students, Paul's teaching is so individual. He allows the student to find their own way, at their own pace. He will gently assist, encourage, and guide each student whatever their ability. You will never feel silly, awkward, or left out in Paul's classes. Nor will you ever feel under challenged!

He has a unique style of teaching and is creative in his class offerings. No two weeks are the same. Unlike some  Ashtanga teaching methods, Paul is gentle, kind and has a sense of humour and you will always feel that you are in safe hands. If you put in the work, you will progress steadily with Paul as your teacher and guide. He encouraged me to take teacher training in 2016/2017 and I now have my own studio and teach full time at The Yurt,  Kilmead. I continue to go to Paul's classes for my own wellbeing, inspiration, and guidance.

Paul is a highly experienced, very knowledgeable yoga teacher. His classes and his immersion course are very beneficial, interesting, and fun. He has a vast knowledge of many aspects of yoga and decades of experience of teaching. He teaches Hatha, Ashtanga yoga, and Vedic Chanting. He teaches Ashtanga according to the teachings of his teacher BNS Iyengar and makes Vedic chanting very accessible, even for people with no chanting or singing voice like me!

You will learn a lot from him, whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner and want to deepen your practice.  Paul brings the yoga to the person in front of him.

I highly recommend any of his classes and his immersion course!

I studied with Paul for his two-year immersion teacher training course 2017/2018. It was simply fabulous. I have been attending many yoga classes over the years and been exposed to many yoga teachers and what Paul offers is something special. He had a calm and genuine approach to passing on his knowledge, honouring the tradition and lineage of his own teachers. He was always friendly and approachable. His knowledge was second to none and I found he really offered something more: more insight into the philosophy of yoga, into why we were doing what we were doing and how to do it in a kinder and more compassionate way. This in turn influenced how we arrived at a better approach to teaching. He included chanting, discussion, meditation, asana of course, pranayama and many more aspects of  'yoga' . I loved it and highly recommend this course for anyone looking to broaden their knowledge of yoga, learn how to teach it and have a great time doing it.

I have been practicing yoga with Paul for 12 years now and cannot recommend him enough. For a number of years previous, I had moved around to different instructors knowing I hadn’t found the right one for me but once I met Paul I knew by his calm and relaxed manner that he was the teacher I had been looking for. He was not interested in making you feel inferior because you could not do a particular asana perfect, in fact he encouraged me to relax and assured me that everything else will fall in to place - which it certainly has.

As I developed my yoga practice with Paul, I decided to do his teacher training to also become a yoga teacher. Through Paul’s authenticity as a teacher and encouragement I am now on my second teacher training course with him and loving every minute of it. Thanks to Paul, yoga has been a constant in my life as well as a stress management tool, especially through extremely tough times and  also the great times.

Hi Paul, its great to join your yoga class. (I'm still getting used to zoom) It's a great help during lockdown, your calm, zen presence is just the antidote needed, we'll hopefully be through it all soon.  Anyway, could you forward me the Chakra meditation please, thank you,

Namaste

I found Absolute Yoga (Paul) through a friend in 2016 I had been practicing yoga with a few different teachers for about two years.

The first class I attended was hatha in Athy, Co. Kildare. I will always remember how I felt on my way home that evening. Apart from Paul’s teaching skills,  his presence brings a whole new experience of authenticity. I felt the Pureness in each asana and his chanting was a whole new experience for me.

I never dreamed I would end up going to India three times with a group of other yogis from our class. Paul having many years of experience of direct lineage studying under BNS Iyengar in Mysore really shines through in his classes.  It was a great opportunity to immerse ourselves in all areas of the practice and train under his teacher.

I did 2 years of Yoga Teacher training in Ashtanga with Paul which I  would  do all over again. The weekends were amazing .

I’m grateful I found a true teacher, which can be hard in the western world.

Not only did I get yoga teacher training certification, but each training weekend was like a mini break from the world. It’s an immersion in yoga, chanting, interesting conversation, and lots of laughter with fellow students. Also, Paul’s vast knowledge and love of yoga is infectious!

I am practicing yoga with Paul for 10years and since the first contact with Paul I felt he was the right teacher and person to learn from. He is very humble, passionate, and wise, he naturally knows how to make people feel comfortable and yoga practice with him has healing benefits on many levels. He has an individual approach to every person depending on needs and I honestly recommend him to anyone who is asking me for a recommendation of a good yoga teacher
